The US National Championships is the first of the big tournaments in October. All players have already qualified to represent their divisions in singles or pairs.

It is shaping up to be one of ultimate sports David and Goliath Stories, as all men will be playing against Jonathan Burnoski (age 15), representing PIMD men's singles. In some games there will be a 50 year age differential - though the bowls don't know that!

Tom and Joshua Burnoski (13) will be representing PIMD in the men's pairs. Joshua is the youngest player in a national tournament event.

What a lovely game where father and son can compete on the same team... in a big championship tournament.

Watch for them in Light Blue (PIMD colors). All teams are in color at the Nationals.. follow your division by color. Daily results at US Nationals 2009 are also color coded this year.

The 2007 Championships were played in Sun City, Florida.

The US National Championships are played each year in a different region. 6 regions send a team each of singles and pairs (men and women) and the SW region sends two teams. These 8 teams then all play each other to determine the winners. Of course, the teams selected are usually the ones that have first won their own divisions, so by the time they compete here they deserve a medal just for endurance. All entrants must be US citizens.

Competitors by invitation and regional qualification only.

All games to be played at Long Beach Lawn Bowling Club
1109 Federation Dr
